Community Guidelines

Be kind. Be careful. Be human.

ReCentered is a private wellness space — not a clinic, not a crisis line, not a social feed. These guidelines keep it soft for everyone.

Our shared agreement

Everyone here is rebuilding something — confidence, calm, identity, faith, peace. By using ReCentered you agree to protect that work in yourself and in others. We are peers, not professionals. We share, we listen, and we hold space without trying to fix.

How we talk to each other

  • Lead with care. Assume the person on the other side is having a harder day than you can see.
  • Listen before responding. A short "I hear you" is often more healing than advice.
  • Use "I" language. Share your experience instead of telling someone what they should feel or do.
  • Respect pace and silence. Slow replies are okay. People are allowed to take space.
  • Honor boundaries instantly. If someone asks you to stop, change the subject, or step back — do it without negotiation.

What's not okay here

  • No diagnosing. Do not tell anyone what mental health condition they "have." That is not your role here.
  • No medical or medication advice. Including supplements, dosing, tapering, or "what worked for me, you should try it."
  • No pressuring people to disclose. Trauma details, diagnoses, location, identity, or relationship status are theirs to share or not.
  • No trauma dumping in DMs. Especially with people you've just connected with. Use the reflection wall or a journaling tool first.
  • No solicitation of vulnerable users. No flirting under the guise of support, no recruiting into programs, MLMs, religions, or paid coaching DMs.
  • No spam, link drops, or promotion. Including affiliate links, products, or your own services.
  • No harassment, hate, or shaming. Around race, faith, body, gender, sexuality, sobriety choices, neurotype, or healing path.
  • No screenshots or sharing of private conversations outside the app.

If someone is in crisis

ReCentered is not a crisis service. If you or someone you're connecting with is in immediate danger, thinking about self-harm, or in an unsafe situation: call or text 988 in the U.S., or contact local emergency services. You can also use the in-app Crisis Resources link at any time. Then, when you're safe, come back to us gently.

Moderation & reporting

You can mute, block, or report any member from their profile. Reports go to a small human team — not an algorithm. We review every one. Repeated violations result in a warning, a temporary pause, or removal from the community. Behavior that endangers another member (predatory contact, hate, threats) is grounds for immediate removal.

We may update these guidelines as the community grows. Your continued use of ReCentered means you agree to the current version.
